During your first days at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, starting on friday 18th of August, the International Office will arrange several activities in order to help you become acquainted with the city of Amsterdam and the university campus, to get to know your fellow students and of course to have fun. For all the international students it is very important to attend the arrival days, even if you won’t attend the VU Introduction Days. If you arranged housing via VU International Office you can pick up your keys on Friday 18th of August or on Monday 21st of August. Monday 21st of August 2017 will mark the start of your student life at the VU Amsterdam.
Your student life starts with the VU Introduction Days. From Wednesday 23 until Tuesday 29 August, you and your fellow students will learn all the ins and outs of your degree programme, attend workshops and explore Amsterdam. You’ll also discover where the best places to study on the VU campus are, where you can find details of your timetable and textbooks and where to go to relax after a day of study. It’s the best way to ensure you begin your degree with a head start!
While taking a tour of Amsterdam, testing your limits on sports day or having a good time at a party, you’ll also get to know your fellow students. The programme not only offers opportunities to find out more about your degree, but also to relax, because studying at VU Amsterdam is about more than academic work alone.
The full programme is warmly recommended. If, for whatever reason, you are unable or unwilling to attend the extensive programme, opt instead for the shortened programme on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 August. In it, the focus will be on preparing for your degree programme.
Whichever programme you opt for, you can be sure of getting a head start with the VU Introduction Days.
